Paston Sixth Form College
Paston Sixth Form College is one of only two sixth-form colleges in Norfolk and 93 nationally. It was created in 1984 from a merger between the Paston School and North Walsham High School for Girls. Sixth form colleges specialise in teaching full time students aged 16-18. Nationally they are the most successful type of sixth form, with excellent results at AS/A-level, and equivalent BTEC Diplomas, and a large percentage of students going on to university.

The practicalities of a smaller establishment meant that being a Site of a larger institution was the only practical solution. |

30 Years of Paston Sixth Form College
![]() The 'new' era of Paston celebrates 30 years this year, and hosted a gathering on Saturday 28th June 2014.
The former Principals, Peter Brice, Molly Whitworth, Peter Mayne and current Kevin Grieve gave presentations on the history and challenges of the early years of the Sixth Form College and the steady and successful climb ever since. Afterwards, the Old Pastonians presented their Centenary Donation to the College (a cheque for £2,475) followed by a commemorative planting of an Oak Tree at the Lawns site, by Nicola Lucking, the Chair of the Corporation (Governors). BIG THANKS to all who contributed to this gesture. |

SOP Membership
Traditionally, the Society of Old Pastonians has been a group of 'Old Boys' who have attended the Paston School at any time up to and including 1984 at which point some older traditions such as the School Song became a part of heritage of the School era.
Membership naturally expands to include Old Pastonians of the Sixth College era, and the SOP constitution is specific about this. We are seeing more College OPs who take an interest in the history of the establishment.
In this respect, this website continues to provide a forum for this evolution. The College has been very supportive of the Society over the years, and the Society hope to contribute back in any way it can. This can only continue, ultimately, by continuing the Membership for another 100 Years.
