Over 60 years ago many Old Pastonians travelled to North Walsham by train from a variety of places such as Mundesley, Stalham and even Weybourne . Then the railways began to close and a number of us attending the Paston School dreamt of saving what we could and probably spent more time on this than trying to achieve GCEs. We actually helped raise the money to buy the engines which were taking us to and from school , engines which can now be seen on the North Norfolk Railway.
Amongst other efforts we saved a number of British Railway posters. This one featuring Lord Nelson could be of interest to members of the Society of Old Pastonians. If anyone would like a copy we suggest that a contibution of £30 would be appropriate to (partially) cover costs.
The posters are large and measure 620 x 1020 mms and we think they look quite impressive.
